DAF LF45 – Non Start

๐Ÿ’‰ Vehicle had just been serviced and had been left running for approximately 20 minutes when it cut out without warning. Fault was purely coincodental to its recent service.

๐Ÿ“ž After several attempts to diagnose and restarting even with easy-start, the customer gave up and called us.

๐Ÿง  Knowing the engine is actually a rebadged Cummins ISB4 engine from its other career paths, we got to work with a Cummins wiring diagram.

๐Ÿ”Œ It was quickly established that even though the main 24v feed for the engine ECU was present on a multimeter, a very simple bulb test proved that the circuit could not carry any current.

๐Ÿ”ช After splitting the harness just a short distance from the ECU, the problem became apparent.

Corroded wire
Main feed corroded in multiple locations.
Further problems were starting in the harness.

๐Ÿฉน Repairs carried out and vehicle returned to service.
