Operate Solo AdBlue leak

πŸ“ž Called out to an Optare Solo today with emissions warning light on dashboard.

πŸ’‰ Customer stated that vehicle was in limp mode and has a strange odour when hot.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ« Our diagnostic tool may not be Mercedes own brand but it does work well with Mercedes engines therefore a quick plug in gave us a heads up of what to expect with a low AdBlue pressure fault. The tool will do what a lot of tools won’t, it will remove the vehicle from a limp mode state at the click of a button.

πŸ”Œ Once under the vehicle, full extent of the issue was clear. AdBlue feed from pump to metering unit had failed after a previous repair with push fit connector less than an inch from metering unit. Side of engine block and starter motor covered in crystallised AdBlue.

βœ”οΈ Genuine Mercedes pipe from pump to metering unit ordered and fitted. Vehicle road tested and put back in to service!

A view from below and under the metering unit. Push fit connector just about visible.
Exhaust pipe next to the AdBlue injector.
The dirty snow-looking stuff is crystallised AdBlue.
